Remember your roots – redesigning an old highschool artwork

I find it interesting when you discover where you come from and what your ‘artistic’ roots are. It still shapes the way how I write and create…

The elven priestess is calling for her dragon. (KYLE novel; Michael T. Bhatty, 2019)

I rediscovered an old artwork from 1986 and repainted it in 2019. In the first iteration it is closer to the original motive, the final version included a character from my latest novel series.

Discarded motive – The character Laura is dreaming of a dragon – with herself as a ritual sacrifice. (KYLE novel; Michael T. Bhatty, 2019)
A piece of fan art/ high school art, “Preyed”, 1986, Michael T. Bhatty

The original fan art image from 1986. I think the pose of the woman is from a Boris Vallejo Artwork, the dragon has a pose from an RPG-model I created with plaster in 1984 … (Michael T. Bhatty, 1986)
